NAMI Basics Ages 4-17
Are you an agency, school or group dedicated to supporting parents? NAMI Davidson offers the evidenced-based, national signature NAMI BASICS course directed to parents of children with behavioral health issues. The free-six-session course has been proven to:
- Reduce Stress & Crisis

- Increase Understanding
- Help With Strategies
For best benefit in group dynamics, a minimum of six attendees are required per class. The course is peer-led by parents whose own experiences have led them to complete 45 hours of training and a mentorship in order to support others.
The Department of Children’s Services will sometimes require this class of parents who have lost custody, or who are trying to retain custody of their children. Foster Care parents can receive nine of their annual CEU hours through this class. Persons seeking Family Support Specialist (FSS) certification can take the course as part of their qualification.
Please contact NAMI Davidson at 615-891-4724 or firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire or request a class at your location. Individuals seeking the course will be included in group sessions.
