Classes are for parents, grandparents and guardians of children ages 4 to 17 challenged by severe and persistent behavioral health issues.
Foster parents can take the class to meet state requirements. This class is also valuable for Family Support Specialist (FSS) certification.
Classes are held in spaces along bus lines for ease of access.
Classes are free, but pre-registration is required. We hold classes when we have enough registered individuals (6-8) committed to the class schedule of 3 consecutive Saturdays. We recognize the difficulties of parent caregivers and try to accommodate by having classes on bus lines and providing lunch and materials.
To qualify for the class you must be an active parent or guardian of a child ages of 3 to 17 with persistent behavioral health issues. This is for parent – to – parent peer training.
We will upon request of the parent or Department of Children Services provide documentation of the completed course.
